Corrib lost their first game of the season at home this afternoon, but not without giving Buccaneers a real fright. In a really exciting and high scoring season opening encounter, Corrib led at half time 13 – 5 after conceding the first score of the game to Buccs through an unforced error at line out time on their own line. Buccs came out fighting and tagged on the first few scores in the second half to give themselves real momentum. Corrib scored 2 converted tries, the second a solo effort on full time by full back Evan Flynn. It was enough for a losing bonus point. The final score buccaneers 32, Corrib 27. Tries, Hubert Creaven, Evan Flynn x 2, Drop Goal, Eric Flynn, Pen & conversions x 3, Evan Flynn.
