New Season, New Coach,New challenge. As the start of the new campaign draws closer Connemara rfc are delighted to welcome in Paul Jennings as our new head coach, Paul a former player of our close neighbours Westport rfc steps into the hot seat on his 1st head coaching role having previously assisted at Castlebar Rugby Club (last season). No doubt the young coach will bring fresh enthusiasm to the field. Paul has already set a date for training to commence.. This Wednesday at 7:30, and it would be great if as many players as possible could make it out to welcome him in. It won’t be an easy task at hand due to the retirement of a few of last seasons key players and to add to that the loss of last seasons star player at 10 Shane Sweeney due to working abroad is a bitter blow, however we have great confidence in Paul and the squad to fight to retain the Connaught j1 title. All at Connemara rfc would like to wish Shane Sweeney all the best in the future, your last kick off the ball in the final league match of last season will stay fresh in the memory off all the supporters.
